Since I'm replacing the rear turn signals, I decided to put the same ones in the front. The rears require only two wires. They hooked up with the bullet connectors like they were made for the bike! Time to move on to the fronts...
Next, I went to the front. I bought another set of 2-wire signals for the front to match the ones in back. I thought it would look awkward to have different signals on the front and back.
Anyway, my problem is that the fronts have 3 wires! The replacements I have only have 2! What do I do? The guy I bought from does sell the lights (I hope) in Single Filament (Dual wire) the ones I have, and in Dual Filament (three wire). I probably can exchange them.
The single filament key reads:
Solid black=Hot
Striped=ground (neg lead)
The Dual filament key reads:
red=positive lead, large filament (flasher light)
solid black=postitive lead, small filament (running light)
Striped=ground (neg lead)
I guess my question is, do I want the 2-wire or 3-wire? And, how should I hook them up? If I buy the 3 wire, do I just take my best guess along with the wiring diagram? Do I get the 2-wire and leave the extras hanging, do I connect them?
Thanks...
